Here's how it actually works with a VA in South Africa, which runs on SAST, two hours ahead of GMT.
The Short Version: Yes — But “Can” Isn’t the Real Question
Yes, a VA can work in your time zone. The real question is how many hours of your working day you'll share live, and what it costs to stretch that.
- US Eastern: South Africa is six to seven hours ahead. Comfortable live cover from your morning into the early afternoon, within normal South African hours.
- US Pacific: South Africa is nine to ten hours ahead. 9am in California is 6pm in South Africa. We cover comfortably to midnight our time, roughly 2 to 3pm Pacific.
- UK: one to two hours apart. You share the full working day.
